They have appointed four major contractors (including Telecom NZ ) to roll out the solution to 75% of the premises , "uneconomic" sites will not be covered. The Gov't funding is NZ $1.4BN The NZ equivalent of NBNCo is Crown Fibre Holdings Ltd , go to www.crownfibre.govt.nz for more info.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18400673059411543746noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-29583699.post-47872411238034475352013-04-27T14:40:52.126+10:002013-04-27T14:40:52.126+10:00This is the best anti-FTTN analysis on the web. It really smells fishy to me. There are so many technical and financial holes in it that I am seriously wondering if it isn't just a giant hoax - a placebo to keep the mug punters (voters!) quiet and convince them that the LNP will 'do something'. I'm sure they have absolutely no intent to ever implement any of it, but just sell the current NBN Co assets to Telstra in a fire-sale.Mikehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17673653116765663369noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-29583699.post-84768886310995729862013-04-16T08:50:52.136+10:002013-04-16T08:50:52.136+10:00Nice work Steve.

Unless there's the possibility of having it built into a custom VDSL modem? That would still be very pricey (and not included in the current CAPEX) But could save on labour and complication for installs?

Excellent points. The Coalition policy has more holes than a sieve....Seven_techhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08158193106040915571noreply@blogger.com
